76: Living in Las Vegas, Acting Like a Tourist
February 27, 2010
While there are certainly a few things making life in Las Vegas a bit tough for many of our fellow Las Vegans (unemployment and housing prices, for example), we love that we live in a city that was once our go-to place for weekend getaways. We’re just 30 minutes away from some of the best food, lodging and entertainment the country has to offer.
Which is pretty cool.
In this edition of the Living in Las Vegas Podcast, we review some of the touristy things we’ve been up to during the last couple of months. Show notes:

UPDATE: A Name Has Been Selected: During Episode 76, we scientifically-selected the name of our most glorious deer. The winner: Vincent B. Venison (Vinnie to his friends). Congrats to Mark G. from Georgia! Honorable mention goes to Edgar Herbert Von Whitney III (well done, Steve). Mark, you’re prize awaits (I’d recommend #3.)
As was mentioned during the beginning of Episode 74 [CityCenter: ARIA Hotel and Casino and Crystals], one of the greatest Christmas gifts ever bestowed on me is the deer you see pictured to the right.
The problem? He has no name.
I think we’d all agree that if he’s to suffer the challenges associated with looking regal above the Whitney Villa entryway pictured, we should at least provide him with a name.
That’s where you come in.
In the comments below, give us your best suggestion for a name. Funny, regal, thought-provoking. . .all are exactly what we’re looking for.
The winner may select any of the following as a token of our undying gratitude:
- A round of drinks on Scott
- A free copy of ChristmAcoustic, ChristmAcoustic II, or Guitjazzathon
- My unending love and support
- Two rounds of drinks on Scott and Deer
- The secret to some fun little magic trick
Thanks in advance for playing along. The winner’s suggestion will be placed on a fancy name plate just below his, er, head. Let the creativity begin!
