#180: A First-Hand Look at the Wonderful Life of a High Roller
January 9, 2013
Living in Las Vegas in back!
Scott and Melissa start the New Year by recapping their New Year’s Eve festivities on The Strip. After we reveal the best place ever to park on New Year’s Eve, we pull the curtain back and see how the high rollers live when they come to Vegas. We start by sipping (and spilling) some wine that we found not so fine, nibble at the only 3-Star Michelin restaurant in town, and count our winnings in a unique sky-high suite! (ALERT: You’ll see the largest “winning stack” you’ll likely have ever seen…don’t miss it!) Show notes:

#177: Tale of Two Buns - Scott Gets a Colonoscopy
December 5, 2012
This week on Living in Las Vegas, we find out what Scott and Michael Jackson have in common as Scott gets violated for a good cause. Once Melissa guides Scott out of his post-colonoscopy drug induced haze, they turn a critical eye towards Cirque du Soleil’s Zarkana, and weigh in with their opinions. We wrap up (after cashing another over ticket) by answering viewer email on where to spend New Years Eve with live music that won’t burst your eardrums. Show notes:

#135: New Years Eve in Vegas, or How to Avoid Projectile Vomit
January 4, 2012
For our first Living in Las Vegas Podcast of 2012, we start a weight-loss revolution and explain how you can have a great evening of dinner, drinks and a show at the Mirage. We then rock out with a Guns n’ Roses member and review what New Years Eve is like on Fremont Street. (Can you guess where the projectile vomit takes place? And by whom?) Show notes:

90: Drunk Woman and Weddings
January 5, 2011
Everybody (with a heart) loves a wedding. There’s romance in the air. The happy couple have a lifetime of joy and happiness ahead of them. And, if all goes well, there is a really drunk girl stumbling around the dance floor.
This episode of the Living in Las Vegas Podcast travels east for New Years Eve, where Scott learns that even if you’re drunk, your panties can match your dress. Show notes:

January 2, 2010
After a reasonable number of libations (Sonic Blaster and Tropica Cocktails were the Signature Drinks of the evening) and some amazing cheese fondue, we had a lot of fun playing Guesstures with our New Years Eve guests. Here’s a handful of clips from the evening.
December 31, 2009
Melissa and I want to wish all of our Living in Las Vegas Podcast listeners a very Happy New Year! For us, the New Year celebration will be an intimate one—we’re having a few friends over to the Whitney Villa to join us and our daughter Savannah and her boyfriend Dak for some adult beverages, games and joyous noise. (You might be surprised how many drinking games can be created by combining Wii Fit with Mr. Boston Platinum Edition Drink Mixing Guide.)
We know that 2009 has been a rough one for many folks. We were fortunate to have steady employment and pretty good health throughout the year. For those in more difficult times, we’re putting out warm thoughts on your behalf. I sense that 2010 will be an exciting and recuperative year for many folks in need of such relief. If you fit into that category, be prepared for a great year!
Finally, thanks for playing along with the two of us over the course of the last few years. January 12, 2010 will mark the four-year anniversary of the show, and during those four years, we’ve made great friends and have had some wonderful times! We are grateful for both.
Happy New Year, Everybody! Have FUN and be SAFE!
64: Dining at Wynn Encore, New Year’s Eve with 20-Somethings and Live Video
January 11, 2009
Because we enjoy having guests at the Whitney Villa, one of the great things about Living in Las Vegas is hosting/entertaining visitors when they come to town. For today’s Living in Las Vegas Podcast, we first take our kids (who are visiting from California) to Wynn Encore for $ome fancy dining. Then, we review our New Year’s Eve party which brought in nine additional 20-somethings to the house and taught me a bit about bouncing back after puking, that some kids can drink faster than I ever could, and that if you play your cards right, you can get a secret XBOX 360 code for unlimited songs in Rock Star. Show notes: (Now where did I put my NutriTorture snack bar. . .oh, and there is some swearing in this episode)

What do you get when you add 15 or so 20-something kids, two 40-something adults, and a variety of drinking games based on Rock Band and Wii Fit?
A visit from the police?
No.
Sounds more like a party to me! And when I think party, I think Live Video Stream. And so, for those of you who’ve decided to stay in this New Years Eve, but want to peek into what a bunch of Whitney VIlla guests will be up to over the course of this evening, take a visit to www.whitneyvilla.com. For those of you into live interaction, there’s a chat feature available as well!
Have a fun and safe NYE!!
